Description
Enescu has left us priceless recordings as a virtuoso violinist, pianist and conductor. Because of them future generations will be able to delight in his incredible talent. But he will be remembered in music history first and foremost as a composer who has bequeathed us an entire school, choosing the East-West synthesis as his path. His 120 opuses from all artistic genres (opera, symphony, chamber, choral, solo music) have embodied this brilliant, unique synthesis between national Romanian music (one of the most vibrant and beautiful in Europe) and the best from the professional Western symphonic and opera culture. And he has become one of the first composers of modern times – together with Debussy, Ravel, Bartók, Stravinsky, Britten and Shostakovich.
